Kull

Title: THE SAVAGE SWORD OF Kull, 1
Author: VV. AA.
Publisher: DARK HORSE
Pages: 448
Price: $ 19.99

Here I am, finished packing the suitcases, almost ready for the move transoceanic take me back to Spain after nearly two years of stay in Mexico. Happy and sad, but more happy than sad, though, that yes, fuck, as they say on this side. I've spent the last week delivered the impossible task of putting in the bag all the books and comics accumulated at this time. I have shoes in the space provided, below the thin line of a more or less reasonable overweight. Or unreasonable, depending how you look, because to see who is willing to pay, say, five or six hundred euros per move so much paper. What happens is that, because I'm going, I sold the sofa bed, refrigerator, closet, TV, bed base, mattress, dresser, gas cylinder, the kitchen cabinet and a shelf full of books and I reached. Hardly, but I reached. Do not know anyone who needs a washing machine? Buy also a table with four chairs, very cute and sturdy. And stuff.
But we stray from the subject, or rather, let's start with the issue. If any of you more or less frequently reads this page already know that I like Conan comics I take from here to greet you warmly to this Ferchu appeared a couple of weeks for the digital version of crash comics, located in the direction blogspot shown at the end of these lines, "addicted" (his own words as) "the Cimmerian" -. It's like, as look at it, is an understatement. Look at it another way: You want to know what is the exact measure of my love for Conan? A bag of four. Twenty kilos overweight. Twice what I have clothes.
But do not think that I am one of those that are bought each and every one of the reissues that are made from the comic character, no. Since I have three or four versions of each comic I'm content. More me seem exaggerated. Well, it happens that when one likes the Conan comics, generally you will also Kull, Solomon Kane's up to, as appropriate, the Red Sonja. You know, those who call themselves adaptations of Robert E. Howard. So the emergence of the highly anticipated, at least for me, first volume of The Savage Sword of Kull, chronological collection of black and white cartoons of the monarch at the time Valusia published by Marvel Comics, and that includes cartoons and illustrations for magazines Savage Tales, The Savage Sword of Conan, Kull and the Barbarians, Marvel Preview and Bizarre Adventures, has put me in a jam. Well there is not a free corner in the bag and I can not get even one ounce more. But do not worry, something will happen to me ... (Oh, I know. What I put the suitcase that of Baudrillard tostón I would say that weigh more or less the same.) Javier Fernández

Creamy Discharge 5 Days Before Period

Title: TEX (SPECIAL Joe Kubert)
Authors: Claudio Nizzi (screenplay) and Joe Kubert (drawings)
Publisher: Planeta de Agostini
Pages: 240
PVP: 10 €

I just finished reading the Tex Joe Kubert and Claudio Nizzi, you see that I have a few years behind some of my readings. And yes, I had a good time with the adventures of Texas Rangers. Not that there is vibrated from beginning to end, but I have not bored. Come on, that the thing has been fun.
Most of merit, no doubt, have it Joe Kubert (Brooklyn, 1926), the graphic narrative genius, a master teacher who needs no introduction. Kubert breathe bullets from all sides, has a natural gift for image-sequence arguments and has a long, long job: they are almost seventy years in the gap, said soon. It is clear that theirs is not the avant-garde or experimental, which makes it needless. His imprint is that of a strong narrator, resourceful, efficient and possessor of a few influential style, personal, beautiful and joyful recognition. Tex will not say that. The Lone Rider, which is the name of the cartoon in question, is your best work because it is not. Lack Detail the Tor, Abraham Stone dynamism and vigor Fax from Sarajevo, but the work of the artist is nice and honest. Certainly more beautiful and more honest in the initial sequences in the rearward, and yet, the latest, rougher finish, have a perfect storytelling, available to a select few. (And you wonder if Kubert not be able to engage the reader even if they propose to illustrate the instructions of a machine drawing with his left hand.)
For its part, the script Nizzi (Sétif, 1938) part of a hackneyed but effective premise. Four of those miscreants who populate the western genre and libidinous kill for pure fun to an angelic settler family, friends of Tex Willer for more signs, the iconic star of the better-known Italian head created by Gian Luigi Bonelli and Aurelio Gallepini in 1948. And in those that Willer, coincidentally visiting, he meets the dead and promised revenge. Then follows the bloody trail of the group and soon faces them, but is defeated, beaten and thrown off a cliff to certain death from which, of course, escapes. From here, then the necessary (and dizzying) physical replacement of the hero, Tex sets out to search and arrest of criminals at this point, and to provide episodic structure to the whole, have broken ranks and separate their roads. From my point of view, the weaknesses of the story is the inexperience of the figures, the lack of originality in solving conflicts, the occasional repetition of some simple diagrams and general. Best, effectiveness and agility of argument and the truculence of certain scenes, which at times are far from conventional. If you seek a leisure
simple, without pretension, Tex. The Lone Rider will be happy afternoon. Javier Fernández

How Does Neutralization Work? Biology

TEX'S REVENGE ARE A VICIOUS AS YOUR FATHER HAUNTED

you a fan of comics, you know that the monthly supply of securities in Spain overwhelms the best of us. If not, I invite you to give it a spin on the news rack in any book store. Do not you think many comics? Are. And it is not pocket is not saying hold the pace and the full month, but up to two weeks and week-by-week.
Man, it is clear that no one wants to buy everything. Is not that right? I, for one, am among those who think it long before deciding to take some home. At least five or ten minutes. No, do not ask me if I'm joking. It's true that I bring from my childhood, the constant threat of falling back into collecting, as he has stopped smoking and you know how easy it is to return to burning cigarettes. You could say I've matured, I've left behind the childish whims, I've learned to control my own impulses. But to be honest, I would say that I am permanently alert. And not just to avoid the bleeding of money, not created. She also has a crumb the classic question: "And now where I'll put this?". Ask if not my mother, who has half a house to blow my own box, with emphasis on the word "boxes." Stacked, aseptic removed, where possible, in the middle. Because the books are culture and dress any shelf, but I guess I admire the family visits the tebeoteca: "Come on, if you have the complete collection of The Smurfs", "Man, to see if I borrow atomic sulfate, I read in the Babelia that's fine. " Not to mention the maternal instinct and invariable tendency to offer a comic and a box of wax pen or the nephew of the day. Everything there is to explain: "See those two figures next to the barcode? Is the price. Yes, yes, well, see if you think you give them away. "
Was I the other day, so to speak, a figure of speech, actually happened years ago in a friend's house, married with two children and the eldest, age communion, he asked his mother money to buy non-memory-what-else in the stalls on the corner, and there she kiss-from here, "he said," You're a vicious, like your father. " Thus, with a mouth full of "vicious" and "your father, you know. Overall, my friend, to my knowledge, does not like drugs, or road bars, or play cards or bingo, and neither smokes nor drinks. Of course, buying comics. Because you will say whatever they want, which is now called the comic book graphic novel, and is very cool and trendy, and is a cultural product class and is read by serious people, but that's in your neighborhood. In mine ...
Ah, but what good times they went to the kiosk and put an arm under two or three comics a week. Or later, when he was taking a little more than pocket money and were already five or six. And then ten or twelve and some other ...
album that I could have given me so well given a host. Come, I say. Javier Fernández

Latest Ecchiest Manga

EXHAUST

Name: The Haunted N º 01
Authors: ROBERT KIRKMAN / GREG CAPULLO
original edition: The Haunt USA
Release Date: 14/09/2010
Format: Paperback Book, 144 pp. color.
Price: 14.95 €

confess that when I read the premise I thought HAUNTED could be something very similar to SPAWN and aesthetically similar to Spider-Man drawn by McFarlane. But this is a new character, also written by Robert Kirkman, head of the Living Dead and my fond memories of the first issues of the entertaining THE DARKNESS written by Garth Ennis, with his pinpoint rogue to star in a gangster thug antihero turned into supernatural (suspected HAUNTED could also have something like that ) me na decides to buy it, while observing a picture more to my taste than the classic exaggerated McFarlane (perhaps now somewhat outdated), similar to fortune as the aforementioned series THE LIVING DEAD and INVINCIBLE (fluid in its narrative line and almost clear, but abundant in details) rather than the titles of Top Cow, suggestive but often poor in support of a good story.
And the fact is that Haunted has proved a pleasant surprise, not only in graphic art. The story of two middle-aged brothers who are fatal, a priest, godless, bitter and heartbroken, you spend the money from his church in a prostitute who also confesses (nothing to do with Jesse Custer preach, except in appearance), and the other a super-secret intelligence agencies of those that exist only in comics, murderer, husband, good people, and besides dead ... interest from the first pages and traps in reading to the end of the 6 numbers that make up the volume, with authentic dialogues breathe and situations as disparate as credible (characteristics shared with Kirkman's zombie series) using public areas to avoid gender stereotypes and, ultimately, build a good comic.

Creepy Crawler Like Doll Maker

Title: SUPERSTAR Steranko
Author: Angel Street
Editorial: DOLMEN
Pages: 112
PVP: 10.95 €

Faced with the work of Jim Steranko (Pennsylvania, 1938) are only two positions: one loves or loves. And the U.S. is the son of Ukrainian immigrants, is a portentous narrator figure, especially gifted in composition Page, assembly, visual rhythm, finish and design. But also, Steranko has the makings of a pioneer, is a tireless innovator, a rare, unique artist used to reject preconceived formulas and reinvent all the time, making it also an indefinable and elusive type.
His unorthodox career-at this point his career is often cited that only includes a handful of comics and extends to fields as diverse as publishing, magic in general and escapism in particular, the theoretical study of the comic and popular culture, illustration or storyboard-film has not prevented him earning a prominent place in graphic narrative, thanks to seminal works as those by Nick Fury and Captain America in the late 1960's, epitome of pop aesthetics applied to the world of superheroes, but also works like an unusual maturity Chandler: red tide, that peculiar hybrid of comic and elegant black genre novel, Atmospheric Zero, amazing graphic adaptation of the film directed by Peter Hyams (Outland, 1981) or "The Exile at the Edge of Eternity", a gem of ten pages included in Superman No. 400 (October 1984) which won honorable mention in the monumental The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction by John Clute and Peter Nicholls. Sample all of the ductility and conceptual rebellion for many years was regarded cult artist and, since 2006, is part of the select list included in the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame, one of the highest honors awarded by the U.S. comics industry to the most outstanding authors of the medium. This booklet
Angel de la Calle, an expanded reissue of texts contained in Steranko. Art Noir (Vanguard Productions / Semana Negra, 2002), go figure, the work and the most outstanding narrative elements Steranko, showing that, beyond the changes log obsessive Pennsylvania There are structural and plot lines that are repeated throughout a production that began in the shadow of Jack Kirby and soon evolved into a conscious and refined eclecticism that integrates elements of pop art, surrealism, psychedelia and film.
In the words of De la Calle: "Knowing Steranko is love, and love even more his work. Beyond its pose, majestic, and their ways as American-and impossible-teeth, is one of the greatest authors of the expression in the last century cartoons. An innovator, an experimenter, someone for whom the comics are really important, both to play with their language and, step, making it grow. A superstar in the final. " Javier Fernandez

Unlock 5 Numbers Lock

SAID IN FINAL BRIEF

Title: LOVE HURTS
Author: Kiriko Nanana
Editorial: MON PONENT
Pages: 210
PVP: 15 €

If I propose three words characterize the style of Kiriko Nanana (Tsubame, 1972) would say that is rigorous, elegant and emotional.
I mean, strict, dictionary in hand, it would in the meanings of severe, austere, precise and thorough, and perhaps also in these other: rough, acrid, cruel and hard to bear, but it depends on individual taste and whether you consider them pejorative qualities. If so, better not take them into account.
I wrote "elegant" and volume of the dictionary: it features grace, simplicity, airy, well proportioned and-such a thing-revealing distinction, refinement and good taste. Note that I skipped the qualities of the word applied to people and I've spent here all the meanings, but "endowed with nobility." And yet the noble quarter includes sense of "unique or special in its kind, two features that I consider intrinsic to Nanan, but I understand in the general sense of the term" noble "a comparative assessment of the individual -By indivisible-with others of their species. And today, just do not want to get into comparisons. I try to assess in the absence of anything else.
What else? Emotional: to produce emotion. That is, it produces an intense mood disturbance and transient, pleasant or painful, which is accompanied by a stir somatic. Two points: first, involves passing "what I pay or short-lived, and how much or how little are relative concepts. It is clear that no one is left intensely altered forever, not for a long time as if it had happened a misfortune or would have won the lottery, but, you see, I remember love hurts and I get excited. And then I passed. Am I clear? Second, as a "shock somatic" worth goosebumps and hair standing on end. The tears, but showing that it is not my case. And before I forget, I need to outline the other meaning of emotion waiting with interest to be involved in something that is happening. That's it.
Now if you want to be more concise, rather than three words were to define the work of the Japanese one, this would be tricky. Note that "delicate" is thin, soft, tender, but tasty, gift, happy, difficult, and I stay here, eye, with the meaning of is not accomplished or executed without much work, not because they do not easily understand, "exquisite, exquisite, handsome, graceful, subtle, sharp and witty. Where is related ingenious intuition, understanding and poetic and creative powers. And if a single word I also would be worth it rather delicately detailed. For detailed equals that stops at the smallest things. How small is about teenage love that goes round and round Nanana, obsessively detailed millimeter.
Although well thought out, rather stay with the two, detailed and delicate. But then it would not be a single word and I plan to be concise.
